About Nic Fouts

I was born and raised in Indiana. I graduated from Western High School in Howard County in 2003. During high school I operated DataWay Computer Systems. It was a small time PC customization & repair and networking shop. Part of my services included programmed systems to fit any situation; although, I was, undoubtedly, my biggest client.

After graduation I relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana to attend Indiana Institute of Technology, aka Indiana Tech. During my time at Indiana Tech I joined a terrific group of guys in the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. Through my Fraternity contacts I landed a Student Technician job in the Research and Development Lab at Lincoln Foodservice Products. I graduated from Indiana Tech with a B.S. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering in 2008. Along with this accomplishment I was promoted to Research and Development Engineer at Lincoln. At Lincoln I was lucky enough to develop and test ovens and foodservice equipment for many major chains including Quizno’s, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut (and other Yum! brands), Tim Horton’s, and Brinker’s (which operates Chili’s, On the Border, Maggiano’s, and Macaroni Grill).

Unable to deny my passion for computers I joined Epic Systems, aka Epic, in March of 2009 as a Technical Services Engineer. Epic is a leader in the healthcare IT world. As a TS Engineer I exist to ensure our customers are able to provide top tier care with the aid of our software. I get the distinct pleasure to flex my interpersonal and programming skills.

In my free time I enjoy camping/hiking, off-road vehicles, foosball, bowling, billiards, tennis, and fire. I have a pair of Honda ATVs that deliver great thrills; although, I haven’t had that pleasure in a while. I enjoy tinkering with robotics, as well. I was involved in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology) robotics program for a number of years and would like to become involved again.
